What a game!

For those who are living under a rock, the Twins beat the Tigers in 12 innings, after going through a combined 13 pitchers (8 by the Twins). Can you believe Leyland stayed with Rodney for 4 innings? Is he borderline insane? I guess it doesn't matter if his arm falls off tomorrow as their season is now over.

So the Yankees will play the Twins tomorrow, starting at 6:07 pm. Match-up looks to be Brian Duensing (5-2, 3.64) against C.C. Sabathia (19-8, 3.37).

News also broke today that A.J Burnett will be pitching game 2, along with Pettitte pitching the 3rd game. Not sure how I feel about that however we will see how it goes. The thing I am not thrilled with is that Burnett now has his own personal catcher, which i hope isn't the case if the Yankees need to play a 5th game. Taking Posada's bat out of the lineup and adding in Molina's for 2 games, is too many.

What a game it was last night! Mauer has that MVP locked up and what a clutch player Cabrera is.

It's amazing what the Twins have done. They will be a tough team in the playoffs.

Should be an interesting series. I see that Pavano is starting game 3 vs the Yankees. I was thinking game 2 originally since that's his normal rest...(well normal rest for the twins. For the Yankees his rest seemed like the entire season)

I agree with you on AJ and Blackburn is probably the Twins best starter. AJ better pitch well. I just hope the season doesn't come down to a game 5 and we don't have Pettitte pitching or Posada catching.

You never know what you'll get with AJ and that concerns me in a 5 game series. 1 game can change the tone of an entire series.

Wooo hooo playoff baseball!

Glad the Twins won. Hope they are exhausted tonight. Will be very windy in the Bronx. Hope we get some nice revenge on Pavano!

Don't like AJ starting Game 2 or Jose catching him.

what a game, I just had this gut feeling before the game started that the Twins were going to pull away with the victory as i'm sure many baseball enthusiasts felt as well. Even when the Twins were down i still had faith in them. Its going to be a tough series with the Yanks that's for sure.
